PhD student investigating the fine structure of striated muscle M-band using electron microscopy and electron tomography.

PhD Student - Qualified March 2010.  For his PhD, Tom used electron tomography to investigate the I-band in striated muscle in order to find the mechanism of the transformation of the square lattice at the Z-line to hexagonal in the A-band.
