Anupama Vydyanath BSc MSc PhD

Research Associate investigating the fine structure of human hypertrophic cardiac muscle due to mutations in cardiac myosin binding protein-C.  Funded by European Commission FP7 award.

Oday Salim MSci

PhD student investigating the fine structure of striated muscle M-band using electron microscopy and electron tomography.  Successfully defended his thesis on 5 Dec 2011.  Revisions of his thesis approved and he graduates on May 8th.  Congratulations, Oday!

Past Members of Group

Thomas Burgoyne BSc PhD

PhD Student - Qualified March 2010.  For his PhD, Tom used electron tomography to investigate the I-band in striated muscle in order to find the mechanism of the transformation of the square lattice at the Z-line to hexagonal in the A-band.  Tom is currently working at the Brompton Hospital investigating the ultrastructure of airway cilia in patients with PCD (primary ciliary dyskinesia).

Since May 2011: PostDoc at UCL in the lab of Dr Clare Futter
